I do not get notified on my Android device when something happens in the Nyby app

Push notifications lets you know when someone post a request, replies to your request and when you receive messages

According to Google, push notifications are delivered to their best ability. If you do not receive push notifications from Nyby, it might be due to some settings on your device. Here is a list of things you can do to make sure you receive push notifications

Make sure your device is connected to the internet

Push notifications demands that you are connected to the internet 

  1. Check that your phone is connected to the internet 

  2. Check that the phone is not in flight-mode

  3. Check that "Mobile data" is on

  4. If you are abroad, make sure "Data Roaming" is on. NB! Extra costs might apply

Update the software

  1. Make sure you have the newest version of the Nyby app. Go to the google play app and search for Nyby. If there is a button next to the Nyby logo with "UPDATE" written on it, click on update. If the button says "OPEN" you have the last version available

  2. Make sure you have the newest version of the Google Play app

  3. Make sure you have the newest version of Android OS installed on your device

Check the settings on your device

  1. Make sure the time and date on your device is correct

  2. Check whether you allow notifications on your phone. Go to settings > Apps > Nyby > Accept notifications. Launch the Nyby app and click on "Home" in the top-left corner > Settings > Notifications > Accept all notifications

  3. Check that you have enough storage on your phone. You can get more storage by deleting apps that are not installed on your SD-card

Some android devices have problems receiving push notifications when the app is not in use. To make sure you can receive push notifications you have to change your settings so that the phone automatically opens the app when you get a new push notifications. 

NB! Different models have different routes for this setting. You may use the information here as a starting point, but a Google search with the exact name of your model will give you specific instruction on how to do this on your device

Make sure the Nyby app is on the list for protected apps. Open Settings > Advanced settings > Battery > Protected Apps. Tick the box next to the Nyby app so that the app continues to be in use even when the screen is off.
