Nyby makes it possible to connect volunteers directly with people whom need help with something. The group is the cornerstone of Nyby, and everyone needs to be a member of at least one group in order to volunteer or ask for help.
For new users of Nyby
The first time you log in to the Nyby app you will get suggestions of groups to join on your "Home" page. Click on the group you are interested in to read more or to request to join the group. NB! If you do not see any groups here, you might have forgotten to give the app permission to access your location services. Follow the steps of this guide on how to add a location, and try again
If the group is public you will be able to join instantly. If the group is private, an admin needs to admit you to the group manually. This may take some time, so please be patient :)
Find groups in your community:
Launch the app and clik on "Groups" on the menu bar. You can scroll down to see all groups close to you. NB! If you do not see any groups here, you might have forgotten to give the app permission to access your location services. Follow the steps of this guide on how to add a location, and try again
Click on the group you are interested in. Here you will be able to read more about the group. If the group is public, you can join instantly. If the group is private you will have to send a request to the group admin
NB! If the group is private, an admin needs to accept your request to become a member. This may take some time, so please be patient
Find specific groups:
If you are interested in finding a particular group, you can use the search bar at the top of the "Groups" page. Follow the steps below for a full explanation.
Launch the app and click "Groups" in the menu bar at the bottom of the page
Click on the search bar and search for group name or city, county og zip-code. You do not need to fill out both fields
Click on the group you are interested in
Read the information and click on the blue botton "Join the group"
NB! If the group is private, an admin needs to accept your request to become a member. This may take some time, so please be patient
When you get added to a group:
As a group admin you can invite new members to your group on Nyby. If you are invited to a group you will get a notification from the app, or a text message on if you have not yet downloaded the app.
Follow the steps of the text message or in the app to enter the group. When you have completed the steps you have the possiblity to post a request to volunteers or to reply to others' requests. Click on the links to read how.
